Bespoke

metalwork

A guide to the process of commissioning a bespoke piece of art .

The main thing is we just need to have a chat but read on for some background details...

Just a word about price. Each bespoke piece is personal to the individual customer and consequently requires unique drawings and design work. This takes more time and thought than my other pieces and for this reason they cost a bit more, starting from £280. In return you will receive an entirely unique artwork. A deposit of £100 will be taken before I begin work on your artwork.

Testimonial

‘ J and S are delighted with their automaton. The likeness of Harry is great too, they particularly love his cameo! Thank you so much for all the care and attention you put into it to make it uniquely theirs, it's beautiful’. (M, Hamer, London)

how to guide

Sketching Out

Step 1 - Communication

  • contact me with photos and details to let me know what you’re after:

  • what’s the occasion?

  • what/who would you like included?

  • when do you need it?

After an initial deposit of £100 is made I’ll sketch out an idea for the piece which I will photograph and email to you.

Step 2 - Collaboration

We discuss whether the sketch plan is what you’re after or if it needs a bit of tweaking. When we’re both happy, I get on and make your special artwork!

Step 5 - Completion

A final invoice will be sent out when the piece is complete. On payment your artwork will be sent to you via tracked Royal Mail delivery.

Testimonial - ‘I just want to let you know that my daughter was very surprised and absolutely thrilled with her automata! Everything about it is her! So she is very happy and ofcourse we are delighted. So thank you so much for making our thoughts into a reality. I still can’t quite believe how lucky I was to come across you on the Cornwall Etsy online event. But life is like that and we can be the happier for it!’ (D Hill, Kendal)

  • This process takes time so please get in touch at the earliest opportunity - at least 4 weeks before you need it if possible.

  • The final outcome will be my interpretation of your subject in my personal aesthetic.
